Digital cities at eChallenges 2009
The Digital Cities project has proposed the organisation of a workshop at the eChallenges 2009 seminar on “Digital Cities: Bringing Digital Public Services to the Local Communities”.
Digital Cities is a three-year project that focuses on the problem of the low ICT adoption by European local authorities in non-metropolitan areas, geographically isolated areas and other areas of social exclusion.
The Digital Cities project has proposed the organisation of a workshop at the eChallenges 2009 seminar on “Digital Cities: Bringing Digital Public Services to the Local Communities”.
The Digital Cities project (DC) shall contribute to the exchange, sharing and transfer of policy experience, knowledge and good practices on a European level. A key tool for the project to achieve its goals is the DC Portal: A one-stop shop for stakeholders and individuals wishing to learn more about the current trends in ICT for local authorities, communities and citizens from across Europe.
The key objective of Digital Cities is to facilitate knowledge transfer between the project consortium, giving emerging partners and ICT-mature opportunities to learn from each other.
